José Manuel Franco Pardo

Born in Puebla de Brollón, Lugo, on September 8, 1957. Politician and current president of the Higher Sports Council since 2021. He has a degree in Law and a career civil servant in the Ministry of Defense. Between 2020 and 2021 he was a delegate of the Government of the Community of Madrid.

From September 2017 to May 2021 he was general secretary of the PSOE of the Community of Madrid and deputy of the Madrid Assembly since 1995.

Since June 9, 2015, he has been deputy spokesperson for the Socialist Group in the Madrid Assembly.

  • Councilor of the City Council of Monforte de Lemos (1984-1986).
  • Member of the IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX and X legislatures of the Madrid Assembly (1995-2019).
  • Spokesperson for the Socialist Group in the Madrid Assembly (2015).
  • Deputy spokesperson for the Socialist Group in the Madrid Assembly (2015-2019).
  • General Secretary of the PSOE-M (2017-2021).
  • Deputy for Madrid in the Congress of Deputies (2019-2020).
  • Government Delegate in the Community of Madrid (2019-2021).
  • President of the Higher Sports Council (since 2021)
