Andrés Palop Cervera

Born in Alcudia, Valencia, on October 22, 1973. He is a formerfootball player and has a long career as an elite player, he won the UEFA Pro License as a coach and began his career on the bench in 2014. He currently also works as a television commentator, he is a contributor to the Directo Gol program for Mediapro, as well as a commentator on BeinSports.

More than 22 years of professional career as a world-class goalkeeper with more than 400 professional matches, 80 of them in European competitions.

He played as a goalkeeper in several Spanish clubs such as Valencia CF, Villarreal CF and Sevilla FC and in the German Bayer Leverkusen.

Formed in the CE L’Alcudia quarry until the 1989/1990 season, he would later become part of the Valencia CF quarry until 1996/1997.

He was transferred to Villarreal CF, who at that time played in the Second Division of Spain, the team with which he achieved promotion to the First Division that season, for the first time in its history. In the highest category, Palop continued to defend Villarreal's goal.

At the end of the season and the Villarrealense descent was consummated, Valencia CF decided to redefine it.

In Valencia he remained six seasons. In the summer of 2005 he left Valencia to join Sevilla FC, where he soon became one of the pillars of the team.

He became part of the Spanish team that won the Euro Cup in 2008.

The 2013-2014 season is signed by the German team Bayer Leverkusen.

On June 13, 2014, he announced his retirement from football.

In the role of coach, on February 19, 2015, his incorporation into CD Alcoyano was announced. In September 2018 he is hired by UD Ibiza.
