Theresa Zabell Luca

Spanish sports sailing sailor who won two gold medals at the Games Olympic and more than five world titles in the 470 class.

she was born on May 22, 1965 in the city of Ipswich, a town located in the Suffolk County (UK). When she was very young she settled in the city of Málaga, and was a member of the Real Club Deportivo Mediterráneo.

she began her sports career in 1979 in the city of Malaga, although her first victory She stood out in 1985 when she proclaimed herself world champion in the Europe class. In 1991 she was proclaimed champion of Spain in the 470 class, a title she repeated in 1992 and 1994.

In 1992 she participated in the 1992 Summer Olympics held in Barcelona, where she managed to win the gold medal in the 470 class with Patricia Guerra, fact that they became the first Spanish athletes to achieve a gold medal in an Olympic Games.
